Undocumented
immigrants across the country are waiting to hear
what the United States Senate will decide about
their childrens future.
Once
immigrants make their way past the border patrol,
they find themselves in a country that will not
give them a social security number or citizenship.
Will this same country give their children, many of
whom are every bit as Americanized as
their classmates, by the time they graduate high
school, the opportunity to go on to college?

to close Milan poultry plant

In an English-language letter distributed to
employees in late July, ConAgra Frozen Foods
announced plans to close its poultry de-boning
operation in Milan. Hispanic employees of the plant
are facing uncertainties about the date of the
closure and their options for the future.
