Mariana de maio Mariana De Maio is an Argentine journalist studying at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She
grew up in Venezuela. In 1999 she came to the United States. In California, she worked for KUCR (University of California, Riverside radio station), and KPFK (Pacifica Radio). She's
Adelante's Assistant Editor.
rebecca
susana rivas Rebecca Rivas is a founding reporter of Adelante and the Assistant Editor for the English
side. Her travels have taken her to the Alps, where she trained with the Swiss Army, and to the hinterlands of rural Mexico, where she has taught English and self-defense for women.

sara fajardo Sara Fajardo is a Peruvian-American photojournalist currently working towards a Masters degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She produces
the news radio program, Global Journalist, and is author of a children´s book: Enrique´s Day: From Dawn to Dusk in a Peruvian City.

Brian Williamson After getting his BFA in illustration, Brian headed to graduate school to combine art and
journalism. He has studied design, infographics, and illustration and been the art director of a city magazine and a bilingual newspaper covering central Missouri. He has interned
at the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

evan wilder A photo editor at Adelante, Evan has worked with newspapers and photography from high school
through college at Baylor University. He moved to Columbia from Texas in 2001 and is currently a student in the photojournalism sequence at the Missouri School of Journalism. He enjoys
photo-graphy, biking and developing his web page.
jessie alane turner Jessie Alane Turner was born and raised en el corazón de Missouri. Turner, a photographer, enjoys working with la comunidad hispana because

Javier Solano Marzo Javier Solano is a recent graduate from the University of Navarra, Spain. His professional

erin eggers Erin is a magazine journalism major and Spanish minor who came to Missouri from San Antonio, TX. She's going back to a warm climate (!) this summer to study and work

olivia doerge Olivia Doerge is a journalism and Latin American international studies major at the University of Missouri. She's spent a year studying at the University
of Costa Rica, and she grew up in Tucson, Arizona.
Ann Friedman Ann is working on dual degrees in journalism and Spanish. Her interests in human rights, especially in the rural U.S., drew her to Adelante!
alonso soto Mr. Soto was born in Managua, Nicaragua. He is a student of journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia and is seeking a broadcasting degree.
He has worked before for bilingual publications and also in newspapers in Central America.
Betsy Yagla Betsy Yagla, born and raised in Iowa, considers Barcelona, Spain, her home. She´s studying
Spanish and journalism.
Colleen stachura Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Colleen Stachura is a radio and print journalist who's reported on women's topfreedom in Canada, oil spills
in the Detroit River, and juvenile crime. She's written for several media outlets, including two NPR stations. Colleen also has a background in anthropology, Spanish and human rights.
Daniela Velázquez:
A native Missourriqueña from St. Louis, Daniela is in pursuit of mastering the Spanish language and understanding Latino culture. She has written about Mid-Missouri's growing
Hispanic population and continues to be fascinated by the impact of this demographic shift sweeping through the U.S.
Laura Girresch Originally from the St. Louis area, Laura is working on a degree in magazine journalism and a minor in spanish at MU. Her interest in cultural
feature writing and curiosity about the growing Latino community briught her to Adelante.
